Located on private land, this solar field provides clean, affordable energy to the local utility to serve its annual ratepayers. The property owner benefits from annual lease payments over the term of 30 years.
The Amherst Community Solar farm is the first project in NYSERDA’s Community Solar Program to be sited in the Town of Amherst and was named a 2024 Top Project of the Year in the Environmental Impact category by the Environment+Energy (E+E) Leader Awards program.
